For more than 25 years, Avaloq, a Swiss-originated software development company with more than 1,200 employees across the globe, has been successfully providing major banks with integrated and comprehensive banking software solutions.

Avaloq's "ready for banking" solutions cover a broad range of fully-integrated back, middle and front office functionalities which are successfully operated in the most demanding financial centres worldwide. Today, 75 retail, wealth management and universal banks in 20 countries rely on Avaloq as a competent innovation partner and advisor.

 

 

The Brief

In early 2012, Avaloq were keen to establish a new product development centre in the heart of Edinburgh where they would recruit up to 500 new staff. They were seeking a recruitment partner to assist in identifying suitable candidates for two key profiles; predominately Software Engineer and Business Analyst roles, from graduate to experienced level hires.

The Solution

The Eden Scott resource team lead by Niall Bree provided guidance and advice of the local candidate market, and advised on the most appropriate methods to attract a high calibre of candidate.

In addition, the team supported Avaloq at various University Graduate recruitment fairs, and helped promote the Avaloq brand through advertisements and targeted recruitment drives.

Once applicants had been identified as suitable candidates, they undergo an in-depth first stage pre-screen on behalf of Avaloq, which included sets of technical tests and competency based interviews. For the initial opening of Avaloq’s development centre, Eden Scott designed and delivered a highly specialised and tailored assessment centre which resulted in the successful placement of 10 initial hires. 

The Result

Eden Scott continues to work in partnership with Avaloq as they seek to attract the highest calibre of candidates to work in their prestigious Edinburgh Development Centre.

Avaloq have 57 full time employees within the Edinburgh Development Centre, of which Eden Scott have provided 27 of these hires, additionally we have sourced 2 candidates for other international locations. The remit has expanded to go beyond the Business Analysts and Software Engineers remit and to now include the successful sourcing of Technical Writers, Business Consultants and support functions of Head HR – UK and Office Support.
