Aberdeen Beach Cleanup
Saturday saw some of the Aberdeen team pick up their bin bags and take to the beach for The Great British Beach Clean in aid of the Marine Conservation Society, continuing their stride in the Aberdeen 10 for 10.
The MCS is the UK’s leading charity for the protection of our seas and invites people all over the UK to take part in a beach clean-up in their local area every year. It’s a fantastic opportunity to learn more about our coastlines while maintaining a clean and safe place for marine wildlife.
Consultant Cassidy explains how this raises awareness of the marine pollution issue, to both others and themselves, as it is very prevalent in today’s world.
“With recent changes to things such as plastic straws being changed to paper to help the environment, we felt that a beach clean was topical in this instance, and it made us feel like we played our part in helping to protect marine wildlife which is currently under threat from litter.”
The whole team is exceptionally proud of their effort to learn a little more about our coastlines and the effect of littering, as well as ultimately preserving marine wildlife in Scotland. Well done!
