Celebrating Scotland's Tech Talent
Eden Scott had the pleasure of attending Dog Digital's #DFest2014 to mark their 126th birthday (in dog years) as well as the the 2014 Digital Technology Awards at the Glasgow Marriott to celebrate excellence within Scotland's booming IT sector.
The day started off with the Digital Festival organised by Dog Digital. The festival included insightful presentations from Twitter, The Drum, Sitecore and Freakworks who discussed how the digital landscape is changing. Did you know that on average, people unlock their phone 110 times a day? We're a social and mobile world and brands are using technology to get closer to their audience.
We also got the rare chance to experience virtual reality. We walked through the streets of Hong Kong and rode a rollercoaster without stepping foot outside Dog Digital's offices in Glasgow.
In the evening we headed over to the Marriott for this year's Digital Technology Awards. In total there were 26 nominees across 9 categories. The very worthy winners were:
Large Technology Company of the Year
- Craneware
Outstanding Performance in Business Growth
- Kotikan

- Storm ID
Best New Product/ Service
- Delta DNA

- Calnex
Small Technology Company of the Year
- Freeagent
