We are delighted to announce our partnership with ACCA Scotland
Eden Scott Aberdeen has forged a partnership with ACCA Scotland (the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) to explore the changing nature of the job market in the North East and better understand the needs of the region.
Eden Scott will host roundtable discussions from its office in Aberdeen with ACCA and members of the business community to discuss topics such as growth, technology, productivity and talent, in relation to the evolution from Aberdeen’s traditional oil-based economy to a more diverse portfolio. The goal of the partnership is to gain a deeper understanding of the needs of businesses in the region, with a particular emphasis on accounts and finance, and how the people driving the economy see it changing over the next few years.
The first Eden Scott and ACCA Scotland roundtable discussion was a great success and took place on the 6 September with several senior finance professionals. The focus of the discussion was around ACCA’s recent research into how SMEs can expand abroad and to share best practice.
The partnership with ACCA follows a period of expansion for the Eden Scott Aberdeen branch, with four new consultants joining the team in recent months to bolster its construction, energy, hospitality, and business support offering. Driving this expansion is Lucy Nicoll, a newly appointed Associate Director at Eden Scott, who has played a significant role in the growth of the Aberdeen branch over the last seven years.
Craig Vickery, head of ACCA Scotland, said of the partnership:
‘With our unrivalled global network, ACCA is ideally placed to work with business to help them address the challenges they face, such as how to develop and retain the best talent, how to embrace technology and how to unlock their international ambitions. Partnering with Eden Scott to gain a deeper understanding of the Aberdeen market will bring benefits for both organisations, ACCA members and our combined business contacts. Our discussions proved enlightening with real practical advice shared around the table.’
Lucy Nicoll, Associate Director at Eden Scott, added:
‘We’re proud to be partnering with ACCA. Their global professional accounting qualification underpins many successful finance and business careers and this collaboration will see us regularly host and meet with key senior finance members here in Aberdeen to discuss strategic business impact pieces. We look forward to working closely with Craig and his team.’
