Last week we had the pleasure of attending the inaugural Proud to be Queens Cross Awards, hosted by Queens Cross Housing Association, to recognise and reward the unsung community heroes at the Thistle Hotel in Glasgow.

The Queen's Cross Housing Association provides a range of housing and support services for young, single, homeless people aged 16-21 years old through the Council for Homeless Young People scheme and the Fire Station services. Queens Cross is one of the largest providers of supported housing in Glasgow.

As a long-standing partner to the Queens Cross Housing Association, Eden Scott were privileged to be sponsors of of the Teamwork category at the Proud to be Queens Cross Awards. Principal Consultant Joanne Fletcher and Senior Consultant Aimee Ryder joined the nominees and guests for the evening.

Those honoured ranged from young tenants who make a difference, to Queens Cross Housing Association staff who have dedicated their life's work to supporting those in the community.

Aimee Ryder, Senior Consultant at Eden Scott commented: "It was a privilege to attend the awards. The evening meant so much to all of the finalists, who are truly the unsung heroes of the local community, and it was great to see them recognised and rewarded for their outstanding achievements."

Association Chief Executive Shona Stephen was thrilled and moved in equal measure by Friday’s event. She said:

“The event is a testament to the community pride we feel so strongly in Queens Cross.

“We are extremely grateful to all of our finalists, winners and those who took the time to nominate. It was a great night with a fantastic atmosphere.”
