About Horsecross Arts
Horsecross Arts runs both Perth Concert Hall – an acoustically world-class space, and Perth Theatre, the oldest repertory theatre in Scotland.
Perth Concert Hall hosts the annual Perth Concert Series during which all the major Scottish Orchestras collaborate on a coordinated programme and audience development initiative. They host a range of chamber and piano concerts as well as star names and visiting international orchestras and companies.
The Hall presents major popular and contemporary music acts, big-name comedians, Scottish traditional music, a programme of schools’ concerts and a range of tribute acts and other events like shows by notable individuals including Chris Packham, Tim Peake and Sir Ranulph Fiennes. It also acts as a major conference venue for Scotland and is hired regularly for other meetings and events – an important business area.
Perth Theatre produces 5 in-house productions each year, including the ever-popular Perth Pantomime and a successful programme of work for young audiences – a key plank in building long term engagement with local people.
They present a range of quality touring theatre, music and dance productions across the main house and the Joan Knight Studio as well as one-off performances by comedians, smaller bands, and other acts. It also houses its education studio space, hosting a range of people on a weekly basis.
Horsecross have a fiercely loyal audience for their core programme of theatre and classical music but need to constantly build on it to ensure their future success. Music and comedy often attract an audience from a wider area, and they are constantly seeking ways of growing their audiences and income across all strands of activity.
