The concept of Mademoiselle Macarons was conceived amongst the bustling cafes and patisseries of Paris. 

By chance founder, Rachel Hanretty stumbled upon the culinary sensation that is a French macaron when standing in line for the Champs Elysees. 

Immersing herself in the culture of the French capital, Rachel then went on to attend the Alain Ducasse cookery school, where she learned to perfect these sweet indulgences. 

A taste of Paris in Scotland

Upon returning to Edinburgh, Rachel set about bringing a little bit of Paris to the streets of the nation's capital. 

Rachel has developed a wonderfully talented, passionate team of Mesdemoiselles and Messieurs to handcraft every macaron with the freshest ingredients.

They not only sell these sweet treats, which come in a whole host of flavours, online, but they supply weddings and corporate events as well as providing a wholesale option.  

Rachel and the team also put on classes to encourage those who have a similar passion to create their own little taste of heaven.
