Joiner (2 year relocation)
The largest company in The Falkland Islands have been undergoing a recruitment drive within their construction sector, one of the principal project requirements is for joiners. They are looking for candidates to be based in the capital (Stanley) of the Islands on a permanent basis for two years working on a large 90-unit timber kit housing development.
The Falkland Islands Company was granted its Royal Charter in 1852 and since then has been supplying the Falkland Islands with a wide range of essential services. The company's main areas of activity embrace retail (including food, clothing, electrical goods, home furnishings, gifts and DIY), residential and commercial property, the sale and hire of 4×4 vehicles, travel services including flight bookings, airport transfers and luxury coach and walking tours for tourists, insurance, agency services for cruise ships and fishing vessels, and the provision of freight and shipping services to and from the islands.
The construction division of the company deals with a variety of projects, from home extensions to purpose-built executive homes, warehousing and offices. Over the next two years an abundance of new build timber kit housing is planned to take place within the capital, Stanley, with the initial £4 million project most recently underway. Due to the volume of work the division is undergoing an extensive recruitment drive.

The Role: Joiner
One of the principal project requirements is for joiners.
The ideal candidates will possess a minimum of three years' experience ideally working on any of the below and be minimum level 2 NVQ / SVQ qualified or an equivalent.
- Experience in building timber frame wall panels and roof trusses for timber frame houses
- Experience in Kitchen Fitting and doors but be prepared to work on first fix joinery
- Experience in building timber frame kit houses
- Experience in fitting roof trusses and steel roof sheeting and prepared to do other work including fitting insulation and plasterboard
The successful candidate will receive a basic salary of circa £37000.
