Continuous Improvement Lead

My client is an ambitious and market-leading manufacturing business with a truly global sales & manufacturing reach; spanning Europe, Asia and Africa. Their Fife site is a real success story with Scottish manufacturing and is in the midst of a period of significant growth across all business functions. They are looking for a creative and communicative expert in C.I practices, who is able to drive positive change around the operation and in line with overall group strategy. You will also have the opportunity to get in projects with other global sites and run training and improvement projects remotely and when possible, travel to other international sites as and when required. The role

Your role will be to support the implementation of the Lean Manufacturing System in partnership with the regional Continuous improvement team, local leadership and manufacturing teams. This commitment includes implementation of Lean best practices, performance monitoring, standardising work and delivering improvements. There'll be a focus on using Lean and manufacturing optimisation through the implementation of LEAN best practices (Visual Management, TPM, Flow, Standard work, 5S) to help the organisation improve it's practices and approach to reducing waste. The role will encompass both manufacturing activities and office-based functions.You'll be involved with:

  • Establishing relationships with site leaders to understand the critical business needs
  • Ensuring support and improvement projects are focused on critical business needs
  • Lead and facilitate high impact and high value improvement projects / transformations
  • Effective use of Lean tools and methodologies within assigned projects
  • Establish and manage plans of improvement activities

The person

  • Excellent knowledge of Lean tools and demonstrated experience leading multiple projects
  • 5+ years of continuous improvement experience - Lean, Six Sigma, Agile
  • Strong track record of delivering valuable business results (improvements in cost, lead time, quality and operation efficiency)
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Strong influencing and interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated and able to close projects successfully
  • A flexible and positive attitude
  • Comfortable with data analysis tools
  • Some basic statistical awareness
