The Specialist Screening and Commissioning directorate within NHS National Services Scotland leads a range of highly specialist healthcare services, population screening programmes, national clinical, diagnostic and strategic networks national planning and financial risk on behalf of NHS boards and Scottish Government to achieve the delivery of equitable, high value health services to meet the needs of the population of Scotland.

The post holder will provide national leadership, with delegated authority from NSS, NHS Boards and Scottish Government to a multi-disciplinary team of clinical & managerial professionals responsible for commissioning, planning, co-ordinating and evaluating the performance of this diverse and complex range of services.

You will lead a multi-disciplinary team of 7 Associate Directors, working closely with the Medical Director for PCF SBU and 3 Clinical Leads and through them. They will manage a team of circa 75 NSS professionals located in Gyle Square, Edinburgh & Meridian Court, Glasgow. A further c.50 clinical professionals aligned to individual specialist services or other programmes or work, funded on a sessional basis also receive support from the postholder and team.

As a member of the Senior Management Team, you will contribute to the development and implementation of the PCF SBU's 5 year strategic plan including agreeing objectives for service development, financial budgeting and workforce planning.

You will engage, manage and influence strategic stakeholders across NHSScotland, NSS and the wider public sector, developing and delivering strategies and change programmes to ensure they are proactively engaged to support the delivery of specialist and screening services and PCF SBU goals.
