Eden Scott is delighted to be working with a leading meat producer with manufacturing plants across the UK.

My client is seeking a Business Development Manager to promote their brand and products to clients, negotiate contracts and pricing with the aim of maximising site profits and market share within Scotland.

This role would suit a candidate with agri/farming/red meat background with experience in sales or a desire to go into sales and business development.

This newly created role will give the post holder the opportunity to focus on building on their existing customer base and brand by identifying and selling to new prospects across Scotland and then maintaining effective and profitable relationships with customers and understanding their needs.

Key skills and experience required:

  • Identifying business opportunities by identifying prospects and evaluating their position in the industry, researching, and analysing sales opportunities.
  • Selling products by establishing contact and developing relationships with prospective customers, recommending products and solutions.
  • Maintaining positive relationships with customers by providing support, information, and guidance on our products, researching, and recommending new opportunities, and recommending product improvements.
  • Identifying and sharing feedback with colleagues for product improvements or new products by remaining current on industry trends, market activities, and competitors.
  • Preparing and submitting weekly/monthly sales reports by collecting, analysing, and summarising key market and customer information.
  • Maintaining and developing professional and technical knowledge by working with production teams and educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies.
  • Contributing positively to team effort by accomplishing site targets and results.
  • Presenting the product or service favourably and in a structured professional way.
  • Negotiating on price, costs, delivery and specifications with customers and internal management.
  • Liaising with production and distribution teams to check the progress of existing orders.
  • Recording sales and order information, updating company systems as required.
  • Representing the company at trade exhibitions, events, and demonstrations (online and in person events).

Key skills and experience required:

  • At least three years experience in red meat, poultry, pork, fresh produce or dry food new business development sales is required

This role offers a salary up to £35,000 plus car allowance and bonus
