Strategic Customer Account Manager

My client is a dynamic and fast-growing procurement and materials management solutions provider, with a modern Glasgow HQ and an expanding international presence. The company has a unique culture which offers a challenging, fun and rewarding experience. This newly created Strategic Customer Acccount Manager role has evolved due to significant business growth. The successful individual will shape the company's account management strategy and lead the management of customer relationships, as they enter an exciting phase of growth.

The Role

  • You will define a best-in-class account management strategy for customers in the UK and US
  • You will own the overall customer relationship and be responsible for management reviews, escalation, the customer contract and annual price agreements
  • The business wholeheartedly supports the principle of being customer-centric. All employees have customer contact, and each sub area of the business has a customer success strategy. You will work closely with all key stakeholders to ensure the principles of your account management strategy are embedded within the customer success strategies
  • You will lead the execution of the account management strategy, responsible for defining standards, ways of working, performance tracking and optimisation of the CRM solution
  • Although this role does not have a direct team, you will train, mentor and coach those in customer-facing roles to pass on your knowledge and expertise
  • You will be part of the Commercial Management Team, working to define and drive a strong commercial strategy

  • Proven account and customer relationship management experience
  • Ambitious track record of achievement and performance delivery
  • Exceptional communication skills, able to brief, inspire and influence across stakeholders at all levels
  • Strong commercial acumen, proven in strategy development, contract management and high-quality decision making
  • An independent operator, hungry for a challenge and opportunity to deliver significant value-add
