Data Engineer / Scientist

Working within a dynamic and innovative development environment, you will be a key member of the data and algorithm group, responsible for building and maintaining a cloud-based database into which all the company's lab and clinical test data will be stored. Supporting product development for ODx's POC medical device, which are currently being tested in the UK and US centres, you will have a key role in upgrading existing software and designing and implementing a new cloud-based database.

You will have an exciting and challenging role, your duties and responsibilities including;

  • Building and maintaining a cloud-based database for managing and developing laboratory data
  • Improve data collection and data entry for laboratory and assembly processes
  • Implement and maintain data processing and cleansing software
  • Write documentation for data infrastructure software
  • Maintenance of existing MATLAB data infrastructure
  • Maintenance of infrastructure for data collection from remote laboratories

Ideally degree qualified with a relevant qualification, you will have proven experience as a Data Engineer / Scientist within complex product development, have a working knowledge of SQL relational databases and an ability to extract process flows based on a working set-up (laboratory, assembly etc). You will be well versed in software development using a relevant language, ideally MATLAB but experience within languages such as Python or Java would be considered.

Previous experience working with Microsoft Azure would be a distinct advantage, a background within the medical device industry preferred. You will ideally reside in a travel to work location although the role will be a combination of office and home based and full consideration will be given to candidates out with but willing to travel regularly to site and as required to meet work commitments.
