ODx Innovations - Senior Microbiologist

Based from their R & D centre in Inverness, ODX Innovations is an early stage company developing a highly innovative, rapid and cost-effective point of care (POC) testing solution for Antibiotic resistance testing. Entering the next stage of their exciting and ambitious growth, ODx are seeking an experienced Senior Microbiologist to support the on-going development and manufacture of highly innovative Medical Device products

The role

A highly experienced Microbiologist, you will support the Director of Microbiology and have responsibility for tracking, evaluation and management of data produced from laboratory and clinical testing.

You will have an exciting and challenging role within a dynamic work environment, your duties and responsibilities will include;

  • collating and analysing laboratory data from microbiological research and development projects
  • scientific data analysis and production of reports for the Management Team
  • drafting of experimental study plans and associated documentation
  • contributing to the production of clinical-regulatory documents that align with project strategies and regulatory requirements
  • author and review scientific documentation for the Quality management system
  • writing technical reports, peer-reviewed documents and presentations
  • contributing to the production of clinical-regulatory documents that align with project strategies and regulatory requirements

Ideally possessing an MSc or PhD in Microbiology, you will have proven experience in a senior microbiology post within a clinical or industrial microbiology environment. Possessing excellent technical authoring skills, you will be able to demonstrate a genuine ability to provide critical, constructive, and timely review of material within robust time constraints and to meet product development goals. A well-developed theoretical and practical knowledge of microbiology analysis across a range of microbiological procedures within a formal quality management system is essential. Direct experience working within an ISO 13485 environment and in setting up and maintaining biological databases would be highly advantageous.
