Eden Scott is delighted to be working in partnership with the Kinross House Estate, one of Scotland's finest exclusive use 5* destinations. Designed by Sir William Bruce in 1683, the Estate comprises over 100 acres of formal gardens and woodland and also extends to Loch Leven Castle Island where Mary Queen of Scots was imprisoned in the 1560s, abdicating the throne of Scotland.

The House looks out over picturesque Loch Leven, the largest loch in the Scottish Lowlands, yet is only 40 minutes from Edinburgh city centre. The Estate offers up to 24 double bedrooms, with Kinross House offering 14 en-suite bedrooms and the charming Coach House a further 10 en-suite bedrooms. The Coach House also offers an intimate boutique day spa complete with treatment rooms, a hydrotherapy pool, sauna and relaxation areas for guests to enjoy, as well as an additional dining hall, courtyard and walled garden.

This extraordinary country Estate is perfectly suited to host special gatherings, celebratory parties and vacations. The spectacular formal gardens of the Estate also provide many areas suitable for wonderful marquee events. Each year, Kinross House welcomes a wide range of high-net-worth individuals from all over the world, who hire the Estate exclusively for a mixture of vacations, parties, weddings and corporate meetings.

An exciting opportunity has now arisen to join the team in the role of Front of House and Operations Manager.

This role is responsible for ensuring that the House and Coach House are presented and operated in a manner that befits the Kinross House guest experience. In particular, the role will be responsible for ensuring that events are planned, managed and operated to the highest standards in keeping with the exclusive and historic nature of the Estate.

The successful applicant will be competent in all aspects of venue management, with experience in Food & Beverage/Retail/Housekeeping/Maintenance and Health and Safety. The role also provides operational assistance in the Spa. The successful candidate will need to have a keen eye for detail, to be an effective communicator and motivator and have an ability to work consistently to the highest standards. It goes without saying that the role requires second-to-none organisational and time-management skills.

This is a hands-on Front of House and Operations Manager role. The position requires flexible working hours, with breakfast shifts, evening shifts and weekend work required subject to the demands of business. If there are no events taking place, hours can be flexible but generally are from 9am to 5.30pm, Monday to Friday.

Key skills and experience required

We are looking for someone to join the team who has a positive and can-do attitude to their work, and who will contribute to a convivial and supportive working environment for all staff. The successful candidate will also be able to work effectively with a number of different external suppliers.

Applying candidates should have:

    • Proven Front of House experience in a similar role in a 5* hotel or venue/luxury customer focused environment
    • Experience within high-end hospitality and of running events
    • Good working knowledge of overseeing facilities management in a similar property/environment
    • Man-management experience

A competitive salary is offered for the right experience. Benefits include 25 days holiday plus statutory Scottish bank holidays, the use of a pool car for business needs, a company pension and staff discounts. This role can also offer live-in (two double bedroomed cottages) accommodation on the Estate as part of the package; we welcome applications from couples who wish to live on the Estate, with one person taking on this role, though with suitable experience there may also be a role for the other person forming the couple.
