Electronics Manufacturing Process Engineer

Are you an engineer with experience in electronics manufacturing? Looking for a role where you can further develop your expertise while optimising precision-focused products?


We're working with a leading aerospace and defence technology provider located in Fife, Scotland as they look to grow their Circuit-Card Assembly (CCA) / Printed-Circuit Board (PCB) Manufacturing team.


This role focuses on maintaining and improving manufacturing processes and equipment performance in a high-reliability, low-volume environment.


What will you be doing?
This role will involve a variety of tasks, allowing you to contribute across multiple aspects of the manufacturing process. Your key responsibilities will include:



  • Developing and implementing manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency and reliability.

  • Managing process and equipment performance throughout the product lifecycle.

  • Programming and supporting manufacturing equipment.

  • Implementing Engineering Change Notes (ECNs) and working closely with design teams.

  • Using data analysis to identify and resolve manufacturing issues.

  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Ensuring compliance with quality and production standards.


To thrive in this role, you will have:



  • HNC (minimum) in an electronics-related subject or relevant industry experience.

  • Experience with at least one of the following processes:


    • SMT placement

    • Solder paste printing

    • Reflow profiling

    • AOI/AXI

    • Conformal coating

    • Circuit card de-penalization

    • Specialist electronics rework.


  • Understanding of high-reliability manufacturing standards (defence, aerospace, or medical preferred, but commercial experience also considered).

  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, PFMEA, or SPC methodologies is beneficial (but not required).

  • Familiarity with IPC-A-610 guidelines and ESD protocols is also an advantage.
