Estates Programme Manager
Salary: Band 8A £56,922 - £61,522
Location: Royal Edinburgh Hospital
Reporting to the Head of Estates and working closely with Capital Planning, Estates and Medical Equipment teams, this post will lead our Estates Project Management team delivering capital projects, backlog maintenance and programmes across all clinical spaces within NHS Lothian.
NHS Lothian covers Edinburgh City, East Lothian, Midlothian and West Lothian. We are the second largest health system in NHS Scotland and one of only four teaching Boards. We have strategic partnerships with local Universities, Local Authorities and our four Integration Joint Boards. We serve a population of 900,000, providing a range of primary, community based and acute hospital services. We also provide regional and national services across a range of clinical specialties.
This post will provide Project Management / Building Repair expertise to support the forecast, planning and delivery of the capital programme of Backlog Maintenance within NHS Lothian, ranging in value, across the whole of the estate.
With Strong technical leadership, influencing and communication skills you will be required to demonstrate significant experience in building construction management, backlog maintenance and plant replacement programmes. This role will deliver property changes within live clinical environments therefore experience is required within similar complex environments. Key to the success of this role is good analytical and judgement skills together with knowledge and understanding of construction management.
The purpose of this post is:
- To manage projects contained within the Boards capital and minor works programme utilising internal and external professional project management resources. Providing a complete building project management service from conception stage to project completion ensuring that designs developed are compliant, functional, high quality and provide stakeholders with value for money.
- To provide support and expertise to relevant user departments for projects with particular emphasis on Business Case Development, Design, Construction and Transition to ensure the effective delivery of the projects and smooth transition into the operational phase.
- To work with the Facilities senior management team to support NHS Lothian by providing the management and co-ordination of all allocated project resources in line with appropriate local and national policies.
Applicants should have a degree in construction management or relevant experience in construction management, capital planning, finance, procurement or evidence of equivalent knowledge and skills.
This post requires the post holder to have a PVG Scheme membership/ record. If the post holder is not a current PVG member for the required regulatory group (i.e. child and/or adult) then an application will need to be made to Disclosure Scotland and deemed satisfactory before they can begin in post.
