Who will you be working for?
Our client is an Edinburgh-based start-up specialising in satellite launcher avionics design and manufacture. As they continue to expand their partnerships with leading launch-vehicle manufacturers, they're searching for an FPGA Engineer to help develop advanced on-board computation and control systems technology
What You'll Be Working On
In this role, you'll take on the development of a System-on-Chip, leveraging advanced design, verification, and validation tools. This includes:
- Designing and optimising system logic for core avionics functions. Collaborating with software and electronics teams to ensure seamless integration. Shaping high-level system architecture at the early stages of development within a dynamic, multidisciplinary environment.
What You Will Need To Thrive As An Applicant:
- Proficiency in VHDL, Verilog, or SystemVerilog.
- Expertise in writing synthesisable RTL and behavioural models for testing.
- Hands-on experience with FPGA or ASIC design, including timing closure, place and route, clock tree and I/O allocation.
- Familiarity with board-level design, including power supply and I/O considerations.
- Knowledge of embedded software and real-time operating systems (RTOS).
Having any of the following skills is a plus:
- Several years of experience in design/development environment.
- Experience with Microchip FPGA technologies.
- Proficiency with Libero design tools.
- TCL scripting knowledge.
- Familiarity with AXI4 interfaces and IP module integration.
- Prior experience building FPGA SoC designs that combine processor systems with programmable logic.
