An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the team in the role of Head of Events who will work as part of a small, growing team, reporting to the Director in the Edinburgh office.

Key responsibilities of the role:
You will be able to support the Director with planning and managing staffing across a number of projects.

You will have the ability and experience to develop event strategy and tactical plans.

You will be involved with analyzing client briefs and questioning them, with the goal to leading the preparation of the proposal, whilst also being able to give guidance to other members of the team and ensuring proposal deadlines are managed.

You will have excellent organisational skills and the ability to problem solve is essential.

You will have strong attention to detail and be a clear communicator with excellent interpersonal skills which comes from good time management when dealing with demanding clients, multiple projects and tight deadlines.

You will be able to represent the company at client meetings and site inspections and therefore will need a good understanding of the events industry and the DMC market* (*this may have been from an Agency buyers point of view)

Developing and tailoring proposals whilst understanding a client's specific event requirements, paying particular attention to detail.

You will work with the team to come up with creative ideas, innovative concepts and unique touches to enhance proposals.

You will prepare and manage budgets,

You will be responsible for ensuring the team manage their projects from start to finish including conducting site inspections, onsite delivery and through to the post event debrief and reconciliation.

You will assist with building and maintaining supplier relationships.

You will communicate and negotiate with suppliers to ensure best practice and maximise profitability.

Key skills and experience required:

For this role we are looking for an enthusiastic individual with relevant events experience to join the operations team.

An awareness and strong interest in the Events industry and a hunger to network and promote the DMC's services

5-7 years' Event Management experience plus corporate events experience within an event management company, managing a busy team workload and be a skilled project manager.

Product knowledge of Scotland and the UK understanding of the production services and terminology an advantage

Understanding and knowledge of Event Production

Contracting experience

As well as leading the team you will also work autonomously on your own projects.

As a logical thinker you will be able to multi-task and take a proactive approach to your work whilst managing client and internal deadlines.

You will also be confident working with big personalities and be able to ask questions and seek assistance when necessary.

You will have a flexible, proactive working attitude and be willing to work outside of core hours to assist with early morning, evening, weekend or Bank holiday events
