Payroll and Accounts Administrator

We are delighted to be working on an exclusive basis with our longstanding client to recruit for a Payroll and Finance Administrator to join the team on a permanent basis in their Aberdeen offices.


Payroll/Finance Administrator


Reporting into the Financial Controller, you will be responsible for collating and running an efficient payroll.


The job holder will ideally possess experience of SAP. A working knowledge of accounts, excellent numeracy and communication skills are essential as is the ability to prioritise and organise workload to meet deadlines. Proficiency with Word and Excel is essential. Must also be able to complete a manual payroll if required. Knowledge of Norwegian payroll would be advantageous.


Key Accountabilities



  • Correct processing of salaries in order that monthly payments are made to the employees' accounts by the contractual date

  • Ensure the payments are compliant with legal, statutory and company requirements

  • Correct processing of new hires and leavers

  • Ensure all time entries are correct for payments and accruals

  • Provide accurate reporting to comply with pension auto enrolment legislation

  • Complete Payroll Reports for 3rd Party Payroll Processing

  • Ensure correct approvals & authorisations are in place prior to the payments being actioned

  • Audit payroll reports to ensure that all information has been correctly updated

  • Complete payment spreadsheet for Cadets on a monthly basis and liaise with 3rd Party Agency

  • Issue payslips where necessary prior to payment

  • Ensure all employee records on the database are correct and up-to-date

  • Comply with HMRC guidelines for PAYE and complete e-filing requirements for RTI (Real Time Information)

  • Deal with any payroll queries from employees and 3rd party agencies

  • Responsible for accurate posting and reallocation, where applicable, of payroll costs to Finance

  • Perform monthly analysis of salary & travel variances providing explanations for corporate

  • Participate in Finance month end process.

  • Statutory Financial Audit support for all regions

  • Sox Testing Support for all regions

  • Ad-Hoc provision of reports and information as required
