Senior Construction Project Manager - Renewable Energy - Ireland
Eden Scott are pleased to be supporting their Renewable Energy Consultancy client with the appointment of a Senior Construction Project Manager. Our client is a leading consultancy within the renewable energy sector with offices globally.
Owing to further expansion and contract awards the Ireland team are now looking to appoint a Senior Construction Project Manager. This position can be offered on a remote or hybrid basis.
The successful candidate will work across their grid scale renewable energy projects covering Wind, Solar and Battery Storage (BESS). These projects are all located in Ireland but in future there will be scope to get involved in international work. The projects range in size from 5MW to 100MW.
The position is well suited to a degree qualified construction professional who has worked on large scale infrastructure, utilities or renewable energy projects.
Responsibilities
- Undertake pre-planning, pre-construction and construction phase services in connection with Irish, UK, wider European and global renewable developments, providing advice to all parts of the business
- Interacting proactively with clients, contractors and other project stakeholders, demonstrating the ability to manage interfaces of complex and challenging renewable energy projects
- Contract management and providing advice and interpretation on key project contracts including balance of plant (BoP), turbine supply and EPC contract agreements
- Prepare, review and submit various documentation including but not limited to:
- Tender documentation
- Technical documentation o Employer's requirements
- Contract preparation and management (TSA, EPC, Civil and Electrical Balance of Plant (BoP)) Support clients in obtaining relevant project consents, permits and licences
- Planning condition discharge
- Progress reports
- Act as the Engineer in accordance with FIDIC
- Work with key stakeholders (client, planning authorities, statutory environmental authorities, local communities, utilities, TSO/DSO, TAO, etc.) in delivering construction management services
- Administration relating to the projects including management of project budgets, risk registers, contract claims and variations (including disputes), payment certificates and action plans
- Chair meetings both in person on site and remotely
- Providing competent advice within area of expertise to clients and colleagues across the business
- Ad hoc assessments and tasks associated with project management as directed by the project team
- Identify and assist in undertaking business development activities for the purpose of successfully growing and developing the project management services within the team
- Undertake the continual management of all direct reports from a HR perspective, including on-going personal development reviews
- Coach and mentor staff as appropriate to improve performance
- Lead by example exhibiting best practice in people and team management skills identified by the organisation and in particular with respect to safety and health compliance on site
- Provide due diligence input and technical advisory services across the wider business
- Manage the process of design review
- Proactively manage all issues affecting cash-flow including prompt time / expenses recording, issuance of invoices and minimisation of debtor days
- To actively support the business to protect the environment at all times when working with clients, colleagues and contractors
- Able to support colleagues and take ownership of unforeseen issues until resolution
- Able to resolve and manage conflicts across all stakeholder groups
- Provide effective leadership to wider project team, motivating and managing
- Able to price for projects based on agreed scope of work
- Have a clear understanding of the design and construction processes commonly used in the industry and a detailed knowledge of construction solutions relevant to their projects
- Have an awareness of the skills required to manage people and evidence of the application of these skills
- Have an understanding of programming techniques and critical path features including use of computer software to produce and interrogate contract programmes
- Responsible for winning work with both new and existing clients and managing the relationship throughout the delivery phase
Requirements
- Degree qualified
- Experienced in a Construction Project Management or Project Engineering role
- Experience within the Renewable Energy, Utilities or Infrastructure sectors
- Willing to travel

- Basic Salary of up to 105,000 EUR
