Senior Wind Energy Consultant

Eden Scott is delighted to be supporting their valued client, Locogen, in their search for an experienced Senior Wind Energy Consultant to join their busy consultancy team.

Locogen are an internationally recognised and award-winning expert in facilitating the development, construction and operation of renewable energy systems for their partners and clients.

The Locogen team has grown rapidly over the last few years, and includes chartered planners, engineers, environmental consultants, GIS technicians, electricians, site managers and admin support. This gives them the in-house capability to manage projects from inception all the way through to commissioning and then managing the operation and maintenance of renewable energy assets.

The Role

As a senior member within the consultancy group, you will be responsible for providing technical and commercial advice to clients with a focus on wind energy development, both in relation to embedded wind projects for large consumers as well as commercial wind farm projects.

You would provide Clients with a clear understanding of the works required to take projects through the full development spectrum from inception, feasibility, planning, construction and into operation. In addition to this, depending on the scale of the project, you may assume the project director role to include technical assurance, budgeting and quality.

Within this role business development will also be key and your technical skills will be integral to developing business strategies in the area of wind development as well as in conjunction with other departments to co-locate wind with storage, hydrogen and other emerging technologies.

Experience required:

• An excellent understanding of all aspects of the wind sector including technical considerations e.g. design classes, sites and power quality coupled with a commerciality e.g. trends, developers, consultancies, manufacturers and grid operators.


• A detailed understanding of the regulatory and legislative basis of the market and key industry stakeholders (Ofgem, ENA, etc.) is required.


• Practical experience managing the delivery of wind technologies through pre-construction, construction and/or operation is required.


• A strong understanding of the wider renewable energy market including the key drivers.


• At least 4 years experience working in a consulting environment or equivalent.


• Successful completion of business development within the renewable energy sector.


• Experience of engineering and technical software is desirable.
