UK Corporate Tax Compliance Manager

The role of the UK Corporate Tax Compliance Manager to manage the UK company's corporate tax affairs and two direct reports, to ensure tax compliance and accounting matters are appropriately managed in support of the Tax strategy.

You will manage the UK corporate tax compliance affairs through maintaining processes and systems to ensure they meet their UK corporate tax compliance obligations. You will develop those systems and processes to ensure the technical accuracy of all tax returns submitted by the business, by way of a robust review process.

You will work in partnership with someone who is responsible for advisory work and ensuring that there is a robust control or all taxation reporting activities within the Group.

For this role we are looking for a Qualified Chartered Accountant and/or Chartered Tax Adviser with at least 5 years' post-qualifying tax experience. Ideally you will have proven and solid experience working in a senior tax role, in either public practice (Big 4) or a large company.

Duties will include:

  • Ensure that they meet corporate tax filing obligations in the UK and provide these for the overseas country.

  • Manage the risks and liabilities associated with business activity and ensure the business is applying the correct taxation and accounting treatments.

  • The Corporate Tax Compliance Manager also provides information that might benefit the businesses ongoing Tax planning activities.

  • Management and development of a team of two tax professionals with a focus on delegating key work to colleagues and providing leadership.

  • Monitoring the tax affairs and making decisions or recommendations on tax matters that might benefit the UK company.

This is a wide-ranging position, to be considered for this role you will have the following skills and experience:

  • Qualified to at least Chartered Accountant and/or Chartered Tax Adviser level, with at least 5 years post-qualifying tax experience.

  • Proven and solid experience working in a senior tax role, in either public practice (Big 4) or a large company.

  • Significant experience in dealing with complex corporate tax matters, including advising on corporate tax matters for large businesses.

  • Providing information which can be used for strategic management of tax rates and tax risk mitigation on M&A activity.

  • Excellent staff management and development skills with a proven track record of developing a high-performing team.
