Afternoon is building the operating system for modern financial advice firms.
The business is replacing fragmented technology and manual processes with one AI- and data-first platform, helping firms work faster, deliver better advice and serve more clients.
At the heart of Afternoon is a genuinely complex technical challenge. The platform connects investment data from 27 platforms with client records, documents, meetings and communications, before using AI to transform that information into dependable, source-attributed outputs.
Afternoon has experienced strong growth over the past year, working with a rapidly growing number of advice firms, establishing a live B2B partnership with a UK bank and gaining increasing recognition across the market.
The company won the lang cat’s Advicetech Catwalk 2026, voted for by more than 150 advisers, and was named Professional Services Start-up of the Year for Scotland at the UK StartUp Awards. Afternoon was also selected for J.P. Morgan’s Fintech Forward 2026 programme.

Software Engineer
The Software Engineer will help build the secure, reliable product behind a new operating system for financial advice. Working across Afternoon’s React front end and Python back end, they will contribute to important technical decisions and take ownership of work from discovery through to production.
With the team still small, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to make a genuine impact on the product, architecture and the way the team works.
Data Scientist
The Data Scientist will help build the AI and data platform changing how financial advice is delivered. They will work with complex information held across documents, meetings, client records and investment platforms, developing dependable NLP and machine-learning systems that customers can use in the real world.
This is a production-focused role offering the opportunity to help define Afternoon’s approach to AI as the platform continues to grow.
Operations Manager
The Operations Manager will have the opportunity to see the whole picture and help a fast-growing company work more effectively as it scales. Working across Afternoon, they will understand how processes fit together, identify gaps and weak handovers, reduce recurring mistakes and ensure important work has clear ownership and deadlines.
Afternoon is looking for someone energetic, practical and creative who can turn ambiguity into simple, effective ways of working. The successful candidate will have the autonomy to investigate problems, bring the right people together and see improvements through to completion.
This is an opportunity to play a genuine role in shaping how Afternoon operates, rather than simply maintaining processes created by somebody else.
