About Dynamic Earth
Dynamic Earth is the UK’s leading Earth and environmental science engagement charity, located just off the lower end of the Royal Mile adjacent to The Scottish Parliament and the Palace of Holyrood House.
The iconic science centre and visitor attraction that is core to the Charity’s ways of delivering engagements is situated at the foot of Arthur’s Seat and Salisbury Crags, an extinct volcano.
The geological significance of the surrounding area is part of the story of the location of Dynamic Earth and is a stunning backdrop for the centre and events venue.
The experience they provide
The Events Department, comprising Events Business Development and Event Organisation, is part of their Visitor Experience and Events Directorate that brings together Events, all Food & Beverage offerings, Retail, Visitor Services, Operations and Technical (Exhibition maintenance and Events AV).
They host hundreds of events each year ranging from small, boardroom style meetings, to gala dinners and awards ceremonies for up to 500 guests. The centre transforms from a daytime science centre to a vibrant events venue in the evening. Additionally, as a unique feature, their events guests can visit the Dynamic Earth exhibition as part of their experience with a Rainforest or Polar drinks reception (science engagement can take many shapes!).
The revenues generated from Events form a significant part of the organisation’s income and helps the charity deliver its science engagement work. Join them in making a difference!
Wider Work Across Scotland
In addition to public engagement at Dynamic Earth, we travel Scotland to attend science festivals, schools and community locations because we want as many people to understand and be excited about science, particularly when it relates to our planet.

Going forward Dynamic Earth will increasingly reflect the emergencies our planet faces through the storytelling and engagement they provide in the centre and across Scotland.
