What we do at FCSS
At Flexible Childcare Services Scotland we're taking a fresh look at how traditional childcare services operate.
We offer a truly accessible service right in the heart of our communities. We operate hours that reflect the working and study patterns of the families using our provision and we provide a drop off and pick up service to get children safely to and from our day care setting.
We’re challenging the traditional booking patterns for child daycare services and offering our services on an hourly basis. This means families using our services pay only for the care they need as opposed to having to book and pay for set sessions. In addition to this we charge no deposit or upfront fees and no holiday retainer.
We have a range of services available to children and families designed to give young people the care they need, and parents and carers the peace of mind and support when they need it. These include:
Home based care
Our qualified and experienced team provide specialist care for children with additional support needs from the family home. This is an important service for the whole family and gives parents and carers time away from their caring role, allowing them to spend time with the rest of the family or to engage in work, training or education.
Transport
We provide a Drop-off & Pick-up service to get children safely to and from their day care setting.
Complex Care
All children are different and at FCSS we ensure that our care plans are tailored to the individual needs of the children in our care. Our team are highly experienced and are fully trained to manage the complex needs of the children in our care.
"Without the flexibility of the service we would be paying out 4 x as much in childcare. We are lucky to have my mother in law help 2 days a week. I am a nurse who works shifts therefore our requirements vary on a weekly basis."
FCSS was created after it was found that parents were unable to accept offers of employment due to a lack of flexible childcare services.

We have worked with children, families and childcare providers, to understand their needs; developing Our Services accordingly. We use skilled observation techniques, and in the moment planning, to provide needs-led learning opportunities.
