GreenPower: A Pioneer in the UK Renewable Energy Sector
Formed in 2000, GreenPower is an independent renewable energy developer based in the UK. As one of the early players in the UK renewables industry, GreenPower has direct experience in onshore wind, hydro, solar, and green hydrogen. The company boasts substantial expertise within the renewable energy sector, equipped with the technical, management, and financial skills necessary to successfully deliver complex projects.
Over the past two decades, GreenPower has played a pivotal role in establishing the Scottish and UK renewables sector and continues in its mission to ‘deliver green power and green fuels that enable our customers to make the transition away from fossil fuels’. They have already achieved consent for over 300MW of clean renewable energy and operate projects ranging from utility-scale commercial wind farms to single wind turbines.
Building on past development and construction successes, GreenPower has approximately 200MW of wind and 600MW of solar projects actively under development in the UK. In 2024, the company received planning consent for a green hydrogen production site in Scotland. The Argyll Hydrogen Hub, is a green hydrogen production, storage and re-fuelling facility in Oban, and is GreenPower's first step in building a country wide green hydrogen network.
Projects developed by GreenPower are replacing over 250,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions every year and generate enough electricity to power approximately 150,000 homes. These projects build on GreenPower’s vision to see a thriving economy powered entirely by renewable energy.

GreenPower develops, owns and operates projects that it has developed and has built an in-house asset management team. This team provides services for both GreenPower's own generation projects and those of third parties.
