Our client, a global leader in energy technology and services, is seeking a Corporate Tax Assistant to join their Aberdeen-based tax team. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience across UK and international tax compliance while receiving support towards a professional tax qualification.

The Opportunity

Working within a collaborative and experienced Corporate Tax team, you will support a wide range of direct and indirect tax activities across the UK and international operations. You'll gain exposure to corporate tax compliance, tax reporting, overseas tax matters and cross-functional finance activities, providing an excellent foundation for a long-term career in taxation.

This role would suit a recent graduate, finance professional or aspiring tax specialist looking to develop their technical skills within a global organisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation and submission of UK Corporation Tax returns and computations
• Support direct and indirect tax compliance and reporting activities
• Assist with overseas tax return preparation and administration
• Maintain accurate tax records, documentation and compliance schedules
• Liaise with finance, accounting, treasury and statutory reporting teams
• Support responses to internal and external tax-related queries
• Assist with tax software and reporting systems
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the tax function
• Ensure tax compliance deadlines are achieved across multiple jurisdictions
• Develop technical tax knowledge through training and professional studies

About You

You will ideally have:

• A degree in Accounting & Finance or a related discipline; or
• Previous experience within a finance, accounting or tax environment
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• Good Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
• Strong organisational and communication skills
• The ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
• A genuine interest in building a career within corporate taxation
• Desirable
• ATT qualification in progress or an interest in commencing studies
• Exposure to corporate tax, finance compliance or reporting activities
• Experience using tax or finance systems such as OneSource or AlphaTax
