Senior Accountant - Financial Reporting

We're partnering with a global organisation to recruit a Senior Accountant to join their established Finance Resource Centre team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance professional who enjoys combining technical accounting excellence with team leadership and stakeholder management.

Working within a collaborative and high-performing environment, you'll take ownership of statutory reporting activities across designated regions, lead a small team, and play a key role in ensuring high-quality financial reporting, audit delivery and continuous improvement across the function.

The Opportunity

As Senior Accountant, you'll lead a team responsible for delivering accurate and timely financial reporting activities, including statutory accounts preparation, audit support, month-end and year-end processes, and technical accounting reviews.

Alongside managing day-to-day operations, you'll coach and develop team members, build strong relationships with regional finance teams, and drive best practice and process improvements across the wider finance function.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation and filing of statutory financial statements for assigned regions
• Review and prepare technical accounting papers supporting key accounting decisions
• Manage relationships with external auditors and coordinate audit activities
• Review balance sheet reconciliations and analytical reviews, ensuring quality and accuracy
• Oversee team workload, ensuring deliverables are completed on time and to a high standard
• Develop strong partnerships with regional finance teams across the global business
• Coach, mentor and support team members to maximise individual and team performance
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, controls and ways of working
• Provide technical accounting guidance and training where required

About You

You'll be a qualified Accountant operating at a senior level with proven experience in financial reporting, statutory accounts and audit.

We're particularly interested in professionals who can combine strong technical expertise with excellent leadership and communication skills.

You'll bring:

• Qualified Accountant status (CA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent)
• Significant experience in financial reporting, statutory accounts preparation and audit
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and FRS 101
• Experience managing, mentoring and developing finance professionals
• Ability to communicate effectively with both finance and non-finance stakeholders
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
• Strong Microsoft Excel and Word skills, with SAP experience desirable
• Experience within a large, complex or multinational organisation being advantageous
