Noble Corporation

Noble Case Study
In 2022, offshore drilling company Noble acquired Maersk Drilling. The merger between two world-class drilling firms created an unmatched global deepwater and harsh environment drilling service provision.
Challenge
Following the merger, Noble wanted to extend its service provision globally. One of the first steps in this expansion was creating a brand-new legal team in its Aberdeen office.
The firm’s legal division, led by Jennie Howard, Senior VP and General Counsel, was seeking two experienced Legal Counsels to join the new Aberdeen team.
Process
Eden Scott Aberdeen’s Adam Emery discussed the role requirements with the Noble team at length. As a specialist in legal appointments within the energy sector, Adam was keen to understand Noble’s long-term objectives for the two Legal Counsel roles.
Following initial discussions, Adam conducted an extensive market mapping exercise. With a pre-established candidate network to draw from and with support from the Eden Scott marketing team, Adam rolled out a targeted recruitment campaign to source and shortlist viable candidates.
Success
Following the campaign, Adam presented his shortlist of candidates to the Noble legal team and provided continuous support throughout the interview and selection process.
Two highly experienced Legal Counsels were appointed, in line with our agreed timeline with Noble.
