Due to increased business levels and growth an established financial services business is seeking an experienced financial planning administrator / client support to join its team in Edinburgh. This role offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced administrator or client support professional looking to develop their career within wealth management and financial planning. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering a seamless client experience, supporting advisers, and ensuring business processes are managed efficiently and accurately.
Working within a collaborative and client-focused environment, the Client Support Specialist will be responsible for supporting both new and existing client relationships. The role involves coordinating investment and financial planning administration, managing client requests, maintaining accurate records, and assisting advisers with ongoing service delivery.
The position offers exposure to a broad range of financial products and services and provides opportunities to further develop industry knowledge and professional qualifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate the setup and processing of new client accounts and financial products.
- Manage client servicing requests, including investment transactions, withdrawals, account changes and portfolio administration.
- Act as a professional and responsive point of contact for clients, advisers and third-party providers.
- Support the preparation and follow-up of client review meetings, ensuring all documentation is completed accurately and on time.
- Maintain accurate client records and documentation in line with regulatory standards and internal procedures.
- Process adviser fee arrangements and associated administrative activity.
- Liaise with operational teams and external providers to ensure transactions are completed efficiently.
- Monitor workflow and prioritise workloads to meet service standards and deadlines.
- Contribute ideas for improving processes, controls and operational efficiency.
- Ensure all activities are completed in accordance with financial services regulations, compliance requirements and company policies.
About You
The ideal candidate will have previous experience within a wealth management, financial planning or investment administration environment and will be confident working in a fast-paced, detail-oriented role.
You will bring:
- Previous experience supporting financial advisers, paraplanners or client service teams.
- Strong understanding of financial planning and investment products, including pensions, ISAs and investment accounts.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- High levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
- A proactive and solutions-focused approach.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Confidence working with systems, databases and Microsoft Office applications.
- A commitment to delivering outstanding client service.
Experience & Qualifications
- Approximately 2+ years' experience within wealth management, financial advice, investment administration or a related financial services environment.
- Understanding of client onboarding, ongoing servicing and regulatory requirements.
- Good knowledge of pensions, investments and tax-efficient savings products.
- Progress towards, or completion of, a professional financial services qualification (such as CII Level 4) would be advantageous.
