The Mentholatum Company was founded in 1889 in Wichita, Kansas, originally producing soaps and toiletries before expanding into healthcare products.
Over the years, it has grown into a global health and wellness leader, with manufacturing facilities in five locations worldwide and products sold in more than 150 countries. In 1988, Mentholatum became part of Rohto Pharmaceutical Company, Ltd.
Rohto, founded in 1899 in Osaka, Japan, pioneered over-the-counter medicines and consumer healthcare products.
