Rutherglen and Cambuslang Housing Association

Rutherglen and Cambuslang Housing Association is a community controlled, Registered Social Landlord, committed to providing high-quality, affordable homes. Established in 1979 as the Rutherglen Housing Action Group, it was formed in response to the deteriorating housing conditions in the heart of Rutherglen and the urgent need for action. Registered as Rutherglen Housing Association in 1980, the organisation set out to improve a number of the tenemental homes that had fallen below acceptable living standards.

Over the years, its role has expanded beyond Rutherglen, extending into Cambuslang, leading to a name change in 1996. Since its inception, the Association has invested approaching £100 million in building and enhancing homes, ensuring local residents have access to safe, high-quality housing.

Today, Rutherglen and Cambuslang Housing Association rents 873 properties and provides factoring and grounds maintenance services to over 900 homeowners. As a not-for-profit organisation, it is led by a voluntary Board of Management, made up of local residents, including tenants, and factored owners, supported by a dedicated team of 17 staff who manage daily operations. With a strong community focus, the Association continues to play a key role in improving housing and enhancing neighbourhoods across its areas of operations.
