Quality Engineer

Aberdeen | Permanent | £40,000 - £45,000 + Benefits

We are supporting a leading international engineering organisation with the appointment of a Quality Engineer to join its Aberdeen operations team.

This is a hands-on quality role supporting the inspection, maintenance, refurbishment and certification of critical oilfield equipment. Working closely with workshop, engineering, planning and project teams, you'll ensure equipment, documentation and processes consistently meet customer, industry and regulatory requirements.

A strong understanding of surface wellhead, drilling or pressure control equipment is essential. You'll be confident inspecting equipment, interpreting technical requirements and engaging with others across operations, projects and senior management.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating inspection activities across workshop and project operations
  • Reviewing equipment against engineering drawings, specifications and customer requirements
  • Conducting inspections and providing technical quality support
  • Managing quality records, certification packs and inspection documentation
  • Raising and controlling non-conformance reports (NCRs)
  • Supporting root cause investigations and corrective actions
  • Participating in audits and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Supporting third-party inspections and customer witness activities
  • Maintaining calibration records for inspection equipment
  • Collaborating with workshop, engineering and project teams to ensure quality standards are maintained

You'll ideally have:

  • Experience in a Quality Engineer, Senior QC Inspector, QC Inspector or similar role
  • Strong knowledge of surface wellhead, pressure control, drilling or production equipment
  • Energy industry experience
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
  • Knowledge of inspection and quality control processes
  • Experience managing non-conformances and corrective actions
  • SAP or similar ERP system experience
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
