A small, specialist environmental consultancy in Perth is looking to appoint a Senior Ecologist. With a close-knit team of fewer than five people - including consultants with nearly 30 years’ experience - this role offers the chance to work directly alongside highly skilled practitioners and gain exposure to a diverse range of ecological and environmental projects across the UK.

The Role
As Senior Ecologist, you’ll play a key role in delivering ecological input across a varied project portfolio. You’ll work closely with experienced consultants while taking ownership of your own projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Leading ecological surveys and fieldwork
- Managing small to medium-sized projects and client communication
- Preparing and reviewing technical reports, assessments and licence applications
- Supporting habitat management and restoration programmes
- Providing guidance and support to junior colleagues
- Contributing to project planning, scheduling and operational delivery
Travel & Fieldwork Expectations
This role involves UK-wide project work, and time away from home will be required.
- Around one week per month (until the end of the year) will be spent in England conducting VP surveys for wind and solar projects.
- Two additional VP and breeding bird surveys are based in Central Scotland (forestry and wind farm projects).
