Senior HR Advisor
Location: Aberdeen (Hybrid Working - 3 days office / 2 days home)

The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Senior HR Advisor to join a dynamic and growing organisation based in Aberdeen. This is an excellent opportunity for an HR professional looking to take the next step in their career and who enjoys working in a hands-on generalist role, partnering with managers and employees to deliver high-quality HR support across the business.
Reporting into senior leadership and working closely with a global HR function, you will play a key role in supporting day-to-day HR operations, employee relations matters, people initiatives, and continuous improvement projects.
Key Responsibilities
HR Advisory & Employee Support
- Act as the first point of contact for HR-related queries from managers and employees.
- Provide practical, commercially focused HR advice and guidance.
- Support the full employee lifecycle, including onboarding, development, and offboarding activities.
- Ensure consistent application of policies, procedures, and employment legislation.
Employee Relations
- Advise and support managers on employee relations matters including absence management, disciplinary processes, performance management, and grievances.
- Facilitate investigations, meetings, and documentation where required.
- Escalate complex cases appropriately while ensuring risks are effectively managed.
Manager Coaching & Support
- Build strong relationships with leaders across the business.
- Coach managers on best practice people management and HR processes.
- Support workforce planning and organisational development initiatives.
HR Administration & Compliance
- Maintain accurate employee records and HR systems.
- Support payroll and benefits administration by ensuring employee data is accurate and up to date.
- Produce HR metrics and reports to support business decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with employment legislation and internal policies.
Engagement, Performance & Development
- Support employee engagement initiatives and wellbeing activities.
- Assist with performance management processes and development discussions.
- Contribute to learning and development activities and talent initiatives.
Projects & Continuous Improvement
- Support HR projects and organisational change initiatives.
- Identify opportunities to improve HR processes, systems, and ways of working.
- Contribute to the ongoing development of the HR function.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Previous experience in a Senior HR Advisor or equivalent HR generalist role.
- Strong knowledge of UK employment legislation and HR best practice.
- Experience managing employee relations cases from start to finish.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- The ability to build credibility and influence at all levels of the organisation.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- A proactive and solutions-focused approach.
- Proficiency with HR systems and Microsoft Office applications.
Desirable
- CIPD Level 5 qualified (or above).
- Experience within the energy, engineering, industrial, manufacturing, or technical sectors.
- Experience supporting change management and HR projects.
