Eden Scott is delighted to be supporting an organisation seeking a Part-Time Secretariat Development Officer to play a key role in the development and implementation of an important forum and governance structure.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong stakeholder engagement, governance, policy, committee administration, or secretariat experience who enjoys working collaboratively and helping shape new ways of working.
This role is on a temporary basis up to 6 months and is remote
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development of a new secretariat function and associated governance arrangements.
- Help inform and shape the co-design phase, ensuring engagement activities explore the key areas where decisions and recommendations will be required.
- Participate in stakeholder engagement events and gather insights from a range of participants and representative groups.
- Contribute to the preparation of reports and recommendations for leadership-level decision making.
- Develop key documentation and processes required to establish the secretariat function.
- Ensure the forum remains independent while operating effectively within the wider governance framework.
You Will Be Involved In Developing:
- Membership application and expression of interest processes.
- Eligibility criteria for forum membership.
- Governance and operational procedures, including meeting administration, papers, minute taking and conflict-of-interest processes.
- Member guidance materials and handbooks.
- Terms of Reference, principles, values and ways of working.
- Supporting documentation and frameworks required for effective forum operation.
We are keen to hear from candidates who can demonstrate:
- Previous experience within a secretariat, governance, policy, membership organisation, committee support or programme support environment.
- Strong report writing and documentation skills.
- Experience engaging with a broad range of stakeholders and gathering feedback.
- Excellent organisational and administrative skills with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently while building relationships across multiple stakeholder groups.
- Understanding of governance frameworks, committee structures or public sector processes would be advantageous.
