  • Permanent

An established and highly respected wealth management practice is seeking an experienced Financial Planner to join its growing advisory team in Central Scotland.  This is a genuinely rare opportunity for them and it has arisen following the planned retirement of a long-standing adviser, creating a rare chance to inherit an established portfolio of loyal clients while continuing to grow and develop your own professional presence in the market.  The successful individual will work with high net worth and affluent clients, delivering holistic financial planning advice and building enduring relationships founded on trust, professionalism and exceptional client service.

The Opportunity

This is a role suited to an adviser who enjoys operating with a high degree of autonomy. With office locations available in both Edinburgh and Glasgow, the successful candidate will have the flexibility to structure their working week around client needs, personal preferences and business priorities.  Alongside servicing an existing client portfolio, there will be significant scope to develop new relationships through professional introducers, referrals and personal networking activity.

The business offers extensive support, established infrastructure and a collaborative environment, allowing advisers to focus on what they do best: delivering outstanding client outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and develop an inherited portfolio of wealth management and financial planning clients.
  • Build trusted, long-term relationships with high net worth individuals and families.
  • Deliver comprehensive financial planning advice across retirement, investment, protection and estate planning needs.
  • Conduct regular client reviews and ensure plans remain aligned to changing objectives and circumstances.
  • Identify opportunities to deepen client relationships and increase assets under management.
  • Generate new business through professional connections, referrals and personal networking.
  • Work closely with support and specialist teams to provide a seamless client experience.
  • Maintain high standards of compliance, professionalism and client care.

About You

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be an experienced Financial Planner with exposure to high net worth clients.
  • Hold Diploma Level 4 qualifications as a minimum.
  • Be Chartered Financial Planner status or working towards Chartered designation.
  • Demonstrate a strong track record of relationship management and client retention.
  • Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Be commercially minded while maintaining a genuinely client-focused approach.
  • Enjoy developing business through referrals and trusted professional networks.
  • Be self-motivated, well-organised and capable of managing their own diary effectively.

What's on Offer?

  • Established client bank available from day one.
  • Succession opportunity arising from adviser retirement.
  • Flexible approach to office and home working.
  • Choice of Edinburgh or Glasgow office location.
  • Strong paraplanning and administrative support.
  • Access to high-quality professional development and career progression.
  • Collaborative, highly regarded wealth management environment.
  • Competitive remuneration package and benefits.

This position would particularly suit an adviser looking to step into a mature client portfolio while retaining the flexibility to manage their own schedule and continue building a successful long-term career in financial planning.  A high competitive salary and benefits package is available to the successful individual, please get in touch/apply now for a confidential discussion prior to progressing with Alison Curran.
