Finance Operations Manager
Salary: up to £48,000 DOE
Location: Fife (office-based)
Hours: 8am–5.30pm, Monday–Friday
Eden Scott Accountancy & Finance Division are delighted to be supporting a growing organisation within the construction and project delivery sector in their search for a confident and hands-on Finance Operations Manager to take ownership of its day-to-day finance function. This is a key leadership role within a small, supportive team, ideal for someone who enjoys improving processes, developing people, and ensuring the finance engine runs smoothly.
Working closely with the Finance Director, you’ll be the go-to person for all operational finance activity, overseeing transactional processes, strengthening controls, and ensuring the team delivers accurate, timely work across multiple entities.
What You’ll Be Doing
Leading the Finance Operations Function

Managing daily activity across sales ledger, purchase ledger, banking, and payroll coordination

Organising team workloads and ensuring transactions are processed accurately

Coaching and developing a small team, encouraging high standards and continuous improvement

Acting as the internal lead for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central

Streamlining workflows and helping the team get the best out of the system
- Preparing and reviewing journals, including accruals and prepayments

Maintaining a strong control environment and ensuring ledger accuracy
-
Producing a clean Trial Balance with clear, well-supported reconciliations
-
Managing weekly payment runs for UK and Irish entities
-
Coordinating payroll information with an external provider

Maintaining the Fixed Asset Register and ensuring compliance with internal policies
-
Take ownership of day-to-day accounting for Irish entity and other small group entities
-
Producing monthly financials for smaller entities
-
Managing VAT and RCT submissions and acting as a point of contact for Irish compliance
-
Ensuring timely HMRC submissions (VAT, PAYE)

Supporting CIS and reverse charge VAT requirements (training available)

Assisting with statutory accounts preparation and year-end audit schedules

Acting as a key contact during the external audit process
What We’re Looking For
Experience & Background
-
Part-qualified (ACCA, CIMA, ACA, AAT) or QBE
-
Strong experience in a finance operations or transactional leadership role
-
Solid understanding of ledgers, reconciliations, accruals, prepayments, and cash management

Experience coordinating payroll processes
Bonus points for:

Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics 365 / Business Central

Knowledge of VAT, PAYE, CIS, or RCT
