Financial adviser
- Bridge of Weir
- 45,000 - 62,000 Annual
- Permanent
A well-established and highly respected independent financial advice firm based west of Glasgow is seeking a qualified and either junior or experienced financial adviser to join the business following the planned retirement of a longstanding adviser.
This is a rare opportunity to inherit and develop an existing client portfolio from day one, with a structured succession plan already in place. To ensure a smooth and positive experience for clients, the retiring adviser's client bank has been split between an existing adviser within the business and the successful new recruit. This approach allows for a managed handover process and provides an excellent foundation for long-term success. The successful candidate will take responsibility for servicing an established bank of approximately 100 clients, with average client assets typically ranging from £100,000 to £200,000.
Importantly, there is no requirement for candidates to bring clients, making this an ideal opportunity for an adviser seeking a stable and supportive environment with immediate earning potential.
The Role
The Financial Adviser will be responsible for:
- Managing and developing an established portfolio of approximately 100 existing clients
- Conducting annual reviews and ongoing financial planning meetings
- Providing holistic financial advice across pensions, investments, protection and retirement planning
- Building strong, long-term client relationships through excellent service delivery
- Identifying opportunities to further enhance client outcomes and grow assets under advice
- Working collaboratively with the firm's administration and paraplanning teams
Approximately 65% of client reviews are conducted face-to-face within the office, reflecting the firm's relationship-led approach to advice.
During the onboarding and client handover period, there will be an expectation for the successful candidate to be office-based while becoming familiar with the firm's systems, processes and existing client relationships.
Support & Infrastructure
The successful adviser will benefit from:
- A fully established client bank from day one
- Comprehensive administration support
- Dedicated paraplanning support
- Structured client handover from the retiring adviser
- Strong compliance and operational infrastructure
- An experienced and collaborative team environment
- Highly achievable targets
- Attractive bonus structure with significant opportunities arising from the existing client portfolio
Candidate Requirements
Applicants should possess:
- Level 4 Diploma qualification in Financial Planning (or equivalent)
- Previous experience as a Financial Adviser/Financial Planner
- Strong relationship management and communication skills
- A client-focused, professional approach
- The ability to deliver high-quality financial planning advice
- Experience managing and servicing existing client relationships
Why Apply?
This role offers the opportunity to join a successful and growing advice firm with the security of an established client bank, extensive internal support and realistic performance expectations. With clients ready to be serviced from the outset, the successful adviser will be well positioned to build strong relationships, deliver outstanding advice and generate rewarding earnings from an attractive bonus structure.
